Koch Institute Nanotechnology Materials lab introduces CryoCapCell high pressure freezer (HPF)—Sept. 16

The Koch Institute Nanotechnology Materials lab has acquired a high pressure freezer (HPF) from CryoCapCell. This instrument will be the first of its kind in the country. The exciting aspect of this technology is the ability to interface the HPF to a fluorescent microscope, allowing live cell imaging followed by cryo fixation within 2 seconds. This allows for correlation between the live fluorescent images and downstream high resolution EM imaging.

The engineers from CryoCapCell have begun installing the new HPF. The Koch Institute will be hosting a seminar at the end of the week describing this new technology.

Friday Sept 16 @ 11:30am EST
Koch Institute, Luria Auditorium 76-156
