Waste flow process of incompatible metal and etchant waste

A helpful reminder about the process for waste flow of incompatible metal and etchant waste that can’t be aspirated.

MIT.nano has small volume (beaker scale) local collection set up in the U7 acid extended hood for the standard copper and chrome etchant waste streams. Additional corrosive waste streams that need local collection are handled on a case-by-case basis during PTC review, so MIT.nano staff can evaluate compatibility.

Below is a chart from MIT.nano's wet chemical processing training that covers corrosive waste disposal. Signs for the hoods and wet benches are in the works.
