Every Monday at 9:00 AM, MIT.nano staff pull garments in the cleanroom and send them to laundry. We use RFID to keep track of what goes out and comes back (or what goes missing). This also allows us to understand usage trends, and try to make sure we have enough of each size.
Below is a plot over the last 4 years of the different sizes of bunnysuits (not showing boots, hoods and frocks). Medium and large are in a tie (and increasing), with small and 2XL suits having somewhat less usage (but increasing, too). Overall, we have 3,200 pieces of garments (hoods, boots, suits, frocks), of which 1,037 are bunnysuits (odd number since every now and then some get damaged and are pulled from circulation).
In total, we sent out 50,172 items to laundry since opening for users in 2019.
