After October 1st, samples still stored in Fab-39 (TRL/ICL/EML) will be removed.
Pieces and broken wafers will be discarded, intact 4" and 6" wafers will be sent out for reclaim to help us offer lower-cost test wafers to the community.
All users must recover active samples still needed if currently stored in Fab-39. Fab-12 cubbies can be requested (as always) to accommodate active sample storage needs.
Any remaining wafers after October 1st will be reclaimed into test wafers: We will send them to a company to etch away surface films and repolish, so that we get a good inventory of low-cost test-grade wafers (and can offer single-wafer purchases at cost).
So, if you don’t need your old samples, leave them in 39 and they will find good re-use. Otherwise, please pick them up by Friday, September 30.
