Launching the NanoScribe GT2

The NanoScribe installation was successfully completed this week!  Over the next 3 weeks, ramp-up runs will be done by Prof. Portela’s lab and an SOP is under development.

MIT.nano staff have sketched out a roadmap for starting broader user access:

  1. As a mission-critical tool for the Portela lab, their expert-users will train any new shared users.
  2. If interested in using the NanoScribe, please submit a process to PTC (CORAL tool name DirectWrite-Nanoscribe-GT2)
  3. Approved processes are put into contact with the Portela lab for project requirements and to build a training schedule.
  4. Training will be a series of joint runs with the expert users before unassisted access is granted. We will commence once the ramp-up runs are finished (around mid- to late November)
  5. We may choose to initially prioritize users who have prior NanoScribe experience/projects

Tool charges are set to 4 pu/hr ($34/hr) for academic users (3x for industry). As with all Fab.nano use, there is no hourly fee for being in the lab.
