Process Cooling Water (PCW) reinstallation

As part of the Process Cooling Water (PCW) reinstallation project, the level 3 cleanroom chase corridor (12-3160) and level 3 lab spaces (12-3111, 3160P, 3160N, 3160G-H) will be parts of an active construction area starting Monday, March 22.

Work is expected to last about 10-12 weeks in total. A map showing the affected areas is below: gray highlights the primary chase areas where the work will take place, red highlights the areas with active research where work will take place.

This work will interrupt the path from the main gowning area to soft lithography and to ESP lab space. In order to minimize overlap between users and the construction activity, alternate paths to these spaces with be provided during this work, highlighted in blue on the map.

This will require that all user wear bunnysuits and enter through the cleanroom temporarily. Please adhere to defined pathways (blue lines) and follow posted signage when moving through these alternate paths. Move carefully through the areas with awareness for the construction activities and announce yourself to construction personnel when approaching or passing them in the chases.

Full shutdown and restricted access of certain spaces may be necessary for short durations while the work is ongoing. MIT.nano staff will provide advanced notice and more details of these shutdowns as the schedule is announced. Additional instructions from MIT.nano user services will follow.
